Job description
What will you be doing?
As part of a team of electricians, lead electricians and commissioning engineers, you will work on the electrical systems of naval ships. You’ll install, inspect, and also contribute ideas for improvements. No two days are the same – every ship and every project is unique.
In your role, you will:
Read technical drawings to prepare your work effectively
Install various types of cabling (e.g. power and signal cables)
Mount electrical components and systems
Connect systems and test functionality
Keep colleagues and supervisors informed of your progress
Together, you ensure reliable installations and systems on board modern naval vessels.

Who are you?
You have a background in electrical engineering and enjoy working on technical systems that make a difference. You enjoy working in a team and are motivated to keep developing in your profession.
What you bring:
An MBO diploma in Electrical Engineering (or a similar field)
Strong communication skills
The ability to read and interpret technical drawings
The drive to keep learning and developing yourself
Job requirements
Would you like to use your technical expertise to support the Royal Netherlands Navy? As an Electrician, you’ll work in Den Helder on board naval vessels. Together with your colleagues, you’ll help ensure that the fleet remains fully operational. You’ll be working directly for the Ministry of Defence – at a unique and meaningful workplace.
