What will you be doing?

At Alewijnse, we deliver advanced electrical systems for both maritime and industrial sectors, with project teams active from Romania, the Netherlands, France, Spain, to Vietnam and China. From luxury yachts and naval vessels to large-scale industrial sites, our work is built on trust, performance, and collaboration.

As a Strategic Buyer, you’ll be part of a group-wide procurement network. Our purchasing team's role extends beyond orders; we create value, manage risk, and support delivery excellence across the entire project lifecycle. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, project managers, and international colleagues to drive performance and reliability in every deal we make.

In your role as Strategic Buyer, you will manage the entire procurement process for your assigned categories. From identifying opportunities and qualifying suppliers, to leading negotiations and securing the best contractual terms; you’ll be responsible for shaping the purchasing strategy and ensuring optimal results.

You’ll operate at the intersection of project delivery, commercial value, and long-term partnerships. This means having both the insight and initiative to drive supplier performance, manage risks, and continuously improve processes across the business.

Your key responsibilities include:
– Analyzing the market, identifying cost-effective procurement opportunities and maintaining a clear overview of available suppliers
– Leading the selection, negotiation, and contracting process with new and existing suppliers
– Providing clear advice to internal stakeholders on procurement strategy, options and alternatives
– Managing procurement risks and continuously optimizing contract value, delivery performance, and supplier reliability
– Supporting procurement reporting and process improvements
– Contributing to international procurement goals by aligning local actions with group interests

Who are you?

You are a proactive professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, balances commercial mindset with strong integrity, and knows how to make smart decisions that benefit the business.

You bring with you:
– A university degree in a technical or economic field (specialization in supply chain is a plus)
– Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or a related field
– Advanced knowledge of English, both spoken and written
– Strong PC and database operation skills (Word, Excel, ERP platforms)
– Knowledge of commercial practices and contracting principles
– Analytical mindset, negotiation skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
– Flexibility, resilience, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities or situations
– Understanding of the financial implications of procurement decisions
