Job description
What will you be doing?
As a Hardware Engineer at Alewijnse, you’ll be working on the electrical backbone of maritime installations. From power and navigation to communication and safety systems – you’ll ensure everything runs seamlessly, both at the shipyard and at sea. You’ll act as the link between engineering and execution, always looking for ways to make things smarter and more efficient.
Your role in a nutshell:
Supporting the design of electrical and mechanical systems
Supervising and checking the installation of systems on board
Testing, commissioning and fine-tuning the systems with the team
Ensuring everything functions as intended – or better
Collaborating closely with engineers, electricians, and project teams
What do we offer?
At Alewijnse, you’re not only helping to build world-class vessels, but also shaping your own development. You’ll join a team that takes pride in its work and always pulls together to get the job done.
Here’s what you’ll get:
A monthly salary between €3,400 and €4,300 (based on full-time), plus overtime compensation
25 days of annual leave and 13 additional ADV days
Employment conditions according to the Dutch Metal & Engineering Collective Labour Agreement (CAO)
Pension scheme via PMT
A laptop, phone, and all the tools you need
Opportunities to grow through training, courses and coaching
Extras like team events, a staff association and access to our in-house webshop
Who are you?
You’re a hands-on technician with a strong sense of maritime systems. You enjoy taking the lead and thrive in a dynamic project environment where you learn something new every day.
You bring:
A higher vocational (HBO) level of thinking, preferably in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics
Experience with shipboard electrical systems (preferred)
Strong communication skills and a practical, solution-focused approach
The drive to work as part of a team and deliver great results together
