Team Lead Engineering

What will you do?

As Team Leader Engineering, you lead a team of (system) engineers responsible for designing electrical installations on board ships. They work on projects from the initial phase through to final delivery.

You ensure the team has the right capacity and competencies for both ongoing and future projects. While the engineers are technically directed by the (Technical) Project Manager, you remain their direct manager and are responsible for their personal and professional development.

Because your team is spread across multiple locations nationwide, you regularly visit these sites to maintain close connections and support the team.

In addition, you actively contribute to standardizing, safeguarding, and further developing work methods and processes. Together with other team leaders and under the guidance of the Engineering Manager, you help develop and implement the annual operational plans.

Your role:

• Leading and coaching a team of engineers

• Ensuring the right competencies and capacity per project

• Facilitating tools, knowledge sharing, and team development

• Collaborating with project managers and technical project managers

• Contributing to standardization and improvement of work processes

• Supporting the development of annual operational plans within engineering

Who are you?

You are an enthusiastic and decisive leader with courage. You know how to connect people, dare to make decisions, and feel at home in a technical environment.

What you bring:

• At least a bachelor’s degree (HBO level)

• Affinity with technology

• Proven leadership experience in a Dutch based company where HR-activities were part of your job

• Experience within a matrix or project organization is a plus

• Strong communication skills

• An entrepreneurial and coaching mindset
